Morph x Ora

Dear Morph Community,

We're excited to announce our latest partnership with ORA, a groundbreaking project innovating how artificial intelligence interacts with blockchain technology. This collaboration marks a significant step forward in our mission to create a more accessible and powerful blockchain ecosystem for consumers and developers.

What is ORA?

ORA, standing for Verifiable Oracle Protocol, is pioneering the integration of AI capabilities into blockchain applications. Often described as "Ethereum's Trustless AI," ORA effectively brings AI and complex compute functions on-chain, overcoming traditional smart contract limitations.

In essence, ORA grants decentralized applications AI capabilities, much like how conventional applications leverage an AI's API to enhance their functionality. However, given blockchain's unique constraints, dApps do not have the ability to call off-chain APIs. This is where ORA steps in, providing an on-chain solution for AI functionality that maintains the integrity and security of blockchain technology.

ORA's innovative approach consists of two main offerings:

Onchain AI Oracle (OAO)

The Onchain AI Oracle is a verifiable and decentralized AI oracle system, comprising several key components:

  1. opML Contract: This contract manages the challenge and fault-proof process, ensuring that machine learning operations are conducted on-chain and remain verifiable. It employs an optimistic approach, assuming uploaded data is correct while allowing for a challenge window.
  2. AIOrace Contract: This component connects the opML node with on-chain callers, facilitating the processing of ML requests for specific models.
  3. User Contract: Developers can customize this contract to initiate and receive AI results from the OAO.

The workflow is straightforward but powerful. When a user initiates an AI request, the OAO publishes it to the opML node. The node then processes the request and uploads the results on-chain. Following a challenge period, the result is either published as-is or updated based on successful challenges.

This system opens up a world of possibilities, from zkKYC using facial recognition to on-chain AI games and sophisticated prediction markets powered by machine learning.

Initial Model Offering (IMO)

ORA's second offering addresses a critical challenge in the AI space: the "Money Problem" faced by open-source AI models. Given the substantial costs associated with training AI models, open-source initiatives often struggle to compete with private and enterprise giants.

ORA's innovative IMO mechanism provides a solution:

  1. Creators can verifiably bring their AI models on-chain using ORA's infrastructure.
  2. Through an IMO, the ownership and profit potential of these models are fractionalized. Users can mint and own ERC-7641 tokens representing a stake in a given AI model.
  3. As the model is used and generates profits, token holders receive a share of the earnings.

This approach not only provides projects with the necessary funds to develop and improve their models but also allows users to contribute, own, and earn from these models directly.

How Partnering with ORA Benefits Morph

ORA's AI integration unlocks unprecedented possibilities for Morph's developers and users alike. By incorporating Llama 3 functionality through ORA's AI Oracle, we're equipping our builders with tools to create novel applications. The partnership essentially confers dApps natural language processing, predictive analytics, and dynamic content generation - all while maintaining blockchain's core benefits of security and transparency.

For users, this means interacting with blockchain applications that are more intuitive and responsive to their needs. AI-powered dApps can offer personalized experiences that simplify complex processes and make blockchain technology more accessible to the average consumer. Imagine dApps that can understand and respond to natural language queries, predict user preferences, or generate personalized content on-chain. These are transformative changes that can make blockchain technology as intuitive and user-friendly as any Web2 application.

Looking Ahead

Following the Oracle integration, we're planning collaborative campaigns with ORA to offer bounties to AI builders, encouraging the development of AI-powered applications on our platform.

This partnership represents another step in our journey to create a blockchain ecosystem that truly serves consumers. By bringing AI capabilities on-chain we're opening up new possibilities for user-friendly, intelligent applications that can make blockchain technology more accessible and valuable to everyday users.

Stay tuned for more updates as we move forward with this exciting partnership. The future of AI on blockchain is here, and it's happening on Morph.
